Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a part-time OB Technician to support Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP) services. You will perform patient care and clerical duties under the supervision of an RN, assisting physicians, families, and staff.

Duties include processing birth certificates and Declarations of Paternity, and coordinating care with the LDRP team. A high school diploma is required; BLS within 30 days is mandatory; completion of a Nursing Assistant/Medical Assistant/EMT or

Responsibilities

The OB Technician performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the organization and function of the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP). Works cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provides direct care to patient of various ages (neonate, adolescent, adult). Interacts with physicians, patients, families/significant others, hospital staff and community agencies in providing basic care. Is responsible for completion and processing of the birth certificates, and “Declaration of Paternity” forms.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent

2. BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current

3. Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent required. (State Specific)
