Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Technician in the Emergency Department to assist with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients.

This role operates under the direction of the Registered Nurse and contributes to a safe clinical environment.

Job description

Responsibilities

The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Illinois approved Certification required upon hire.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $18.00 to $26.68. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
