The Unit Secretary is an unlicensed person who performs indirect care and assists with departmental organizational activities. Facilitates the communication needs of the department. Enters and transcribes physician orders from records (in the absence of CPOE) with notation and signature by nursing staff. Prepares and compiles records in the Perinatal Unit. Completes log book entries as needed. Contacts physician offices, patients and other departments as needed to facilitate patient care in the department. Orders supplies and forms for the unit, prepares and completes each patient chart in a timely manner. Assists nursing staff with restocking of the patient room after patient transfer/discharge. Accurately enters information into the hospital computer systems and the department QS Electronic Medical Record system. Able to assist nursing staff for duties involving indirect patient care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $15.65 to $22.67. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
