Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of OR Tech program / Surgical Scrub Tech / Surgical Technology; six months experience preferred.
• Registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine as Surgical Technologist or Surgical Assistant required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing Delivery and OR rooms with instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Drape patients and assist the surgical team during procedures.
• Document care in the EMR and maintain infection control practices.
• Provide patient support duties under RN supervision including vital signs and specimen handling.
