Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the Operating Room under supervision of the Specialty Coordinator/Nurse. You will prepare rooms, gather instruments, and maintain sterile technique to support the surgical team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an approved OR tech program with perioperative training.
• Must become CST within 6 months of hire and be registered with VA Board of Medicine as Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Prepares OR rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment using aseptic technique.
• Drapes patients and assists surgical team during procedures.
• Maintains equipment, assists in turnover between cases and supports infection control.
• Communicates patient status changes to the care team and contributes to the plan of care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
