Zusammenfassung

Eastside Medical Center is seeking a surgical technologist to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery unit. You will manage instruments, supplies, and equipment, anticipate surgeon needs, and help maintain a sterile field while providing patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.

The role requires an OR-trained Surgical Technologist or equivalent experience, with a basic life support certification. NRP is preferred to support neonatal resuscitation when required.

Qualifikationen

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program or 1 year OR experience or 3 years direct patient care.
• BCLS certification required; NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required or
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required or
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
