Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist during obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery OR. You will support the surgeon by handling instruments and maintaining a sterile field and provide patient care under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a Surgical Technologist training program, a GED or high school diploma, at least 1 year OR experience and 3 years direct patient care experience. BCLS is required on hire; NRP is preferred.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program required.
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist required.
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support upon Hire required; NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during obstetrical operations in the OR Labor and Delivery unit.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and maintain the sterile field.
• Perform patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required or
