Job summary

UP Health System - Portage is seeking an OB RN Director to lead a dedicated OB team in a Level I Maternal Care and Nursery setting. You will oversee nursing care, staff development, and performance improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality outcomes for mothers and babies.

Qualified candidates hold a Michigan RN license with an associate degree in nursing; bachelor’s degree is preferred. BLS-HCP and obstetric credentials are required or current within a year, with leadership experience in

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license required.
• Associate's degree in nursing; bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS-HCP certification required.
• NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP, STABLE credentials current or within 1 year.
• 4 years Labor and Delivery experience preferred.
• 2 years leadership experience in healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care of OB patients using nursing process.
• Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of clinical services.
• Performs performance improvement studies and PI initiative implementations.
• Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on patient care, flow, and clinical standards.
• Monitors departmental compliance with accreditation, legal, and Joint Commission requirements.
• Coordinates staff scheduling, education, and performance evaluations.
• Manages patient education needs specifically for Labor and Delivery.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.
