Job summary

UP Health System - Portage is seeking an OB Director (RN) to lead the OB team in a Level I Maternal Care and Nursery setting. The role involves directing nursing care for OB patients, coordinating staff scheduling, and driving performance improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality outcomes for mothers and babies.

The position offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible applicants, with a full-time, exempt schedule and 1.0 FTE.

Qualifications

• Requires RN license and an associate degree in nursing.
• 4+ years of Labor and Delivery experience (preferred).
• 2+ years of leadership experience in healthcare (preferred).
• NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP, STABLE (current or within 1 year)
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care of the OB patient using nursing process.
• Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
• Performs performance improvement studies and PI initiatives.
• Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on patient care and clinical standards.

$5,000 Sign-on Bonus available to eligible applicants PLUS

How you'll contribute

AnOB RN Director who excels in this role:

• Provides and coordinates care of the OB patient using nursing process.
• Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
• Performs performance improvement studies and assists with implementation of PI initiatives.
• Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
• Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
• Provides and coordinates patient educational needs, specifically to Labor and Delivery.
• Performs other job duties as assigned

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

• 4-years Labor and Delivery experience (preferred)

• 2-years leadership experience in healthcare (preferred)

• NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP, STABLE (current or within 1 year)
