Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, CO is seeking a skilled ultrasound technologist for PRN day shifts. You will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams, verify patient identity and history, and position patients and equipment to obtain optimal images.

You will document thoroughly in EMR and PACS, explain procedures to patients, follow infection control and PPE protocols, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy.
• Ability to operate imaging equipment and adjust settings.
• Proficient in PACS and EMR documentation.
• Excellent patient communication across age groups.
• Must read/write/speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance with orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness and obtains clinical history before scanning.
• Positions patients and equipment to acquire optimal images and waveforms.
• Maintains EMR and PACS documentation accurately and timely.
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures comfort and privacy.
• Collaborates with radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of care.
• Sterilizes transducers and follows PPE and infection control standards.
• Completes ultrasound studies and ancillary documentation for radiologist review.
