Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics and anatomy; capable of independent procedures to Radiologist standards.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Strong patient care and communication across all ages; handle sensitive issues professionally.
• Ability to use radiology software and PACS; adapt to departmental policies.
• Maintains licenses and registries; committed to ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams following provider orders and protocols.
• Verifies patient identity and exam appropriateness and collects clinical history before scanning.
• Positions patients and operates transducers to acquire optimal images and data.
• Maintains accurate documentation in EMR and PACS.
• Explains procedures to patients; ensures comfort, privacy and cooperation.
• Educates patients about the exam and completes studies promptly to sustain workflow.
• Operates imaging equipment safely; adapts protocols for all ages.
• Follows infection control and PPE guidelines; ensures room readiness.
• Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare teams to ensure proper imaging.
• Acquires and analyzes ultrasound data; provides complete studies for interpretation.
• Completes ultrasound technologist worksheets with precise findings.
