Job summary

Women’s Care is seeking a Surgery Scheduler in Tampa, FL to provide clerical support and schedule surgeries and related appointments. The role involves checking in patients post-surgery, verifying benefits, and coordinating referrals, while maintaining professional interaction with patients and staff.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 2+ years of surgery scheduling experience (OBGYN preferred), strong medical terminology knowledge, and proficiency with electronic medical

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years surgery scheduling experience, preferably OBGYN.
• Prior experience verifying patient benefits.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers and patients in an effective manner.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, preferably eCW.
• Medical Assistant triage experience a plus
• Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for surgery and follow up appointments.
• Checks in with patients following surgery.
• Verifies insurance benefits.
• Coordinates referrals related to pending surgeries.
• Represents clinic in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
• Demonstrates and embodies Women’s Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
