Job summary

Women’s Care is seeking a Surgery Scheduler in Tampa, FL to provide professional clerical support, schedule surgery and follow-up appointments, verify benefits, and coordinate referrals. The role emphasizes accuracy, patient service, and collaboration within a busy OB/GYN specialty setting.

The position requires strong medical terminology knowledge, EMR data entry skills (preferably eCW), and the ability to multitask under deadlines while maintaining patient privacy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years surgery scheduling experience, preferably OBGYN.
• Prior experience verifying patient benefits.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to be a self-starter that can multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers and patients in an effective manner.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, preferably eCW.
• Medical Assistant triage experience a plus
• Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for surgery and follow up appointments.
• Checks in with patients following surgery.
• Verifies insurance benefits.
• Coordinates referrals related to pending surgeries.
• Schedules patients for Level 2 sonograms.
• Represents clinic in a professional manner.
• Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
• Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
