Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a friendly and organized receptionist to join our patient services team. You will manage multi-line phones, schedule and coordinate outpatient tests, and assist with patient check-in and check-out while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires strong communication skills, basic medical terminology knowledge, and a commitment to patient care. A High School diploma is required, with preferred healthcare office experience.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience as receptionist or clerk in healthcare environment or 1 year customer service experience.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Medical assistant or medical office technician certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answers telephones promptly and courteously, routing to appropriate area/individual.
  • Schedules and cancels appointments using office guidelines.
  • Prepares for day by reviewing eligibility and phone reports; prepares charts and paperwork.
  • Greets patients and visitors professionally and informs them of privacy policies.
  • Collects copayments and balances at check-in and at time of service checkout.
