Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Park Ridge, IL seeks a Patient Service Representative to deliver efficient customer service and support across scheduling, registration, coding and billing. You’ll help maximize revenues by collecting payment at the time of service and ensuring accurate patient records in the billing system.

The PSR will rotate through six Lutheran General service area locations, work five 8-hour shifts Mon-Fri with occasional Saturday hours, and travel is required to multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years related customer service experience.
• Experience handling difficult callers/customers/patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters.
• Ensure entry at time of service of billing information on the patient and payer and accurate follow-up on missing information.
• Uphold standards of the practice and of the medical group for accurate and timely medical records.
