Job summary

Effingham Obstetrics & Gynecology, a partner of Together Women’s Health, has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Back Office Assistant to join the growing medical team. The BOA supports physicians and medical staff to ensure patients have the best experience possible.

The BOA handles patient flow, procedures, labeling samples, restocking supplies, and maintaining clean, ready rooms. This role requires strong communication, organization, and multitasking in a fast-paced medical office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CNA preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times.
• Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Must be able to multi-task while working in a fast-paced medical office.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer services skills, and supports the model of patient and family centered care in all interactions.
• Chaperones providers during patient exams.
• Prepares for, sets up and assists with examinations, per protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures that all collected samples (blood draws, cultures, biopsies, urinalysis) are properly labeled and transported to the lab in a timely fashion.
• Inventories and restocks supplies as needed.
• Sanitizes rooms and equipment, getting them prepared for the next patient.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of the practice.
