Job summary

UP Health System - Portage, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an OB RN Director. This full-time role offers 1.0 FTE with 80 hours per pay period, and a Monday–Friday 8-hour day schedule with exempt pay. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.

The OB RN Director will lead a dedicated OB team at a Level I Maternal Care and Nursery facility, driving quality outcomes, staff development, and high standards of patient care in the Keweenaw region.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license and associate's degree in nursing; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 4+ years Labor and Delivery experience (preferred).
• 2+ years leadership experience in healthcare (preferred).
• NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP, STABLE (current or within 1 year).
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care of OB patients using nursing process.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting delivery of clinical services.
• Perform PI studies and assist with PI initiatives.
• Serve as a resource to staff and external contacts on patient care, flow and standards.
• Monitor compliance with accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, education, and performance evaluations.
• Provide patient education specifically to Labor and Delivery.

How You'll Contribute

• Provides and coordinates care of the OB patient using nursing process.

• Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
• Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
• Provides and coordinates patient educational needs, specifically to Labor and Delivery.
• Performs other job duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional Requirements Include

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• 4-years Labor and Delivery experience (preferred)
