Job summary

UP Health System - Portage is seeking an experienced OB RN Director to lead the maternity team and ensure excellence in labor and delivery care. This full-time, exempt role offers day shifts, strong leadership responsibilities and a pathway to meaningful improvement in patient outcomes.

We value a Michigan RN with an associate degree (bachelor's preferred), BLS-HCP, and 4 years in Labor & Delivery, plus 2 years of leadership.

Qualifications

• Michigan RN license and associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor's preferred).
• BLS-HCP certification required.
• 4 years Labor and Delivery experience (preferred).
• 2 years leadership experience in healthcare (preferred).
• NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP, STABLE (current or within 1 year).
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and coordinates care of the OB patient using nursing process.
• Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
• Performs performance improvement studies and assists with PI initiatives.
• Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
• Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
• Provides and coordinates patient educational needs, specifically to Labor and Delivery.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

$5,000 Sign-on Bonus available to eligible applicants PLUS

What we're looking for
