Job summary

Corewell Health in St. Joseph, MI is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare hot and cold meals for our hospital restaurants, room service, and grab‑and‑go markets.

You will handle line cooking, prep work, and mise en place to showcase culinary skills while ensuring quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 years in food service, and CRT Food Handler certification (or CFP/ANSI NAB equivalents).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant experience in food service or equivalent experience.
• CRT-Accredited Food Handler or Food Protection Manager certification (ANSI NAB) with 90 days grace period.

Responsibilities

• Performs hot food preparation including frying, baking, broiling, braising and grilling.
• Prepares soups, cereals, eggs, entrees, vegetables, and other items as necessary.
• Monitors food quantity needs as customer counts vary and maintains temperatures.
• Follows standardized recipes and calculates ingredients by weight/volume.
• Stores items properly, labels/dates, and uses leftovers within allotted time.
