Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Cook in Nutrition Services to prepare and cook meals for patients, employees, and visitors. You will follow standard recipes, ensure proper temperatures, and maintain sanitation across shifts in a hospital setting.

The role requires at least three years of cooking experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and Serve Safe certification within six months. Strong teamwork, communication, and multi-tasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years cooking experience required, or on-the-job exposure/cross training observed by Manager.
• Must pass Serve Safe exam within six months of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions with experience in food preparation, storage, and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food for meals on the correct day at the correct time.
• Ensures proper temperatures and safe storage of ingredients.
• Follows recipes, yields, and equipment instructions to produce quality food.
• Maintains sanitation and clean work areas after shift.
• Assists with recipe development and testing and attends department meetings.
