Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to join the Division of Nursing leadership. This role provides oversight for a unit/department, directs nursing care, and coordinates patient care delivery across shifts.

The position collaborates with the Director of Nursing to establish standards, manage staff performance, and advance quality, safety, and regulatory goals. It also involves budget stewardship and ongoing professional development to support

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program.
Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field preferred.
RN license in MD/DC per jurisdiction (as applicable).
Licensure and certifications as required by the state and role.

Responsibilities

Develop unit/department goals and ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.
Lead staffing, performance reviews, and coaching of associates.
Oversee budget development and ensure efficient unit operations.
Promote quality, safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with nurse leaders to coordinate care and professional development.
