Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to join the Division of Nursing leadership. You will lead the nursing and patient care delivery for the unit, collaborate with the Director of Nursing, and ensure holistic, culturally competent, high-quality care across transitions of care.

You will also oversee budgeting, staffing, and regulatory compliance while promoting Magnet/Pathways initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program required.
Master's degree in Nursing or health related field preferred.
1-2 years of progressive nursing care experience required; leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Develops goals, objectives, policies and procedures for the unit and ensures regulatory and accreditation compliance.
Maintains relationships across disciplines to ensure efficient, quality patient care and throughput.
Sets performance expectations, conducts evaluations and manages staff development.
Manages annual performance reviews and provides ongoing feedback for professional growth.
Oversees budget, staffing, safety initiatives and quality metrics for the unit.
