Job summary

Vivo Healthcare seeks a Nursing Unit Manager to plan, develop, organize, implement and direct nursing services on the assigned unit, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies.

The role includes overseeing complaints, maintaining supplies, and reviewing nursing documentation to reflect patient care aligned with residents' wishes.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed RN or equivalent
• Experience directing nursing services preferred

Responsibilities

• Reviews complaints and grievances made or filed by staff, reporting to the Director of Nursing as required.
• Ensures an adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, equipment, and other essentials on the unit; notifies relevant personnel of needs.
• Assists in developing written preliminary and comprehensive assessments of residents' nursing needs.
• Makes nursing/aide assignments to ensure staffing and resource allocation.
• Encourages staff to attend and participate in outside training programs; schedules accordingly.
• Reviews nurses' notes to ensure they reflect the care provided and residents' wishes.
