Job summary

Great Plains is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to provide direct nursing care to residents and oversee the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. The role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines, and requires coordination with the Nurse Supervisor and Director of Nursing Services to maintain high-quality care.

The incumbent will direct shifts, review policies, plan services, and participate in quality assurance, training, and facility surveys.

Qualifications

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing the long‑term care facility.
• Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with the facility's written policies and procedures.
• Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility's quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
• Coordinate with other resident services to ensure the resident's total regimen of care is maintained.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
• Ensure compliance with written policies and procedures.
• Review department policies and manual documents.
• Plan shifts' services, programs and activities.
• Maintain Nursing Service Procedures Manual, ensure it's current.
• Prepare reports and liaise with Government agencies as needed.
• Assist in discharge planning and resident care coordination.
• Provide leadership to nursing personnel on unit/shift.
• Ensure nursing care is provided by licensed staff or trained aides.
