Job summary

North Pointe Care Center is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants. The role ensures compliance with applicable standards and oversees day-to-day nursing operations within the facility.

The position involves planning shifts, coordinating services, and maintaining documentation and discharge planning. The incumbent will participate in QA activities and staff evaluations to uphold high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants.
• Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and facility policies.
• Review and update department policies and procedures as needed.
• Plan shifts, services, programs, and activities with nursing staff.
• Maintain Nursing Service Procedures Manual and ensure nursing staff adherence.
• Participate in QA and facility surveys as required.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines for the facility.
• Ensure nursing personnel comply with written policies and procedures.
• Review and revise department policies, manuals, and job descriptions as needed.
• Plan shifts' services and activities with nursing staff and support personnel.
• Maintain the Nursing Service Procedures Manual and ensure compliance.
• File and report on shift activities and outcomes; coordinate with other resident services.
• Oversee charting, documentation, and discharge planning procedures.
• Administer medications as ordered and ensure patient safety during administration.
• Participate in performance evaluations and staffing decisions with the Nurse Supervisor.
