Job summary

ECU Health Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a skilled Staffing Scheduler to organize and prepare work schedules across nursing units, based on census and patient acuity. The role focuses on ensuring adequate staffing, minimizing overtime, and coordinating coverage for time-offs and call-outs.

The candidate will maintain staffing reports, support HR/payroll, and participate in leadership meetings to improve scheduling processes within the behavioral health hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with automated scheduling platforms required.
• Experience in healthcare scheduling preferred.
• Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge and experience required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor census, staffing, scheduled admissions and discharges to ensure adequate staff for each shift.
• Prepare monthly staffing schedule and communicate issues to staff.
• Amend scheduling as needed to provide quality patient care.
• Find coverage for all nursing time-off requests and call-outs.
• Track absenteeism and report as assigned.
• Coordinate staffing for program transports as needed.
• Provide administrative support as needed.
• Calculate lateness, Daily FTE and weekend shift reports and distribute bi-weekly.
• Collect and calculate program nursing time clock adjustment forms and punch detail reports.
• Work with HR and payroll to resolve paycheck issues.
• Attend staffing meetings and nursing leadership meetings.
