Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to manage daily and long-term staff scheduling across clinical departments. The role supports operational efficiency by maintaining accurate staffing records and coordinating with HR and payroll to ensure compliant labor management.

The position requires attention to shift changes, time-off requests, and real-time adjustments using float pools or agency resources as needed, while upholding confidentiality and high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in staff scheduling, administrative coordination, or healthcare operations required.
• 1-2 years of experience using scheduling or staffing software systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and maintains staff schedules based on department needs and facility policies.
• Monitors staffing levels and adjusts coverage with clinical leadership to meet patient care standards.
• Documents call-ins, shift changes, and schedule modifications with timely notifications to leaders.
• Assists with time-off requests, shift trades, overtime approvals, and other staffing changes in accordance with labor guidelines.
• Supports real-time staffing adjustments using float pool, PRN, or agency resources as needed.
• Maintains accurate records of schedules, attendance, overtime, and staffing metrics for reporting to leadership, HR, and payroll.
• Generates and distributes scheduling documents and staffing updates per facility guidelines.
• Uses scheduling software systems to manage schedules and keep HR data updated.
• Participates in resolving staffing operation issues and helps improve scheduling processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
