Job summary

Cantex is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to ensure proper staffing patterns for the facility, using the budgeted PPD. The role manages initial interviews, reference checks, and staff scheduling while coordinating patient care coverage and payroll accuracy.

You will conduct in-services and clinical education for staff, maintain attendance logs and open positions, and collaborate with the Director of Nursing to solve staffing challenges.

Qualifications

• Prefer current licensed LVN in applicable state.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience staffing in a 24-hour healthcare setting.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Experience interviewing and hiring nursing department personnel.
• Experience using an EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly schedules for all nursing departments with 6-week intervals and 2 weeks prior to expiration.
• Prepare daily sign-in sheets at least two weeks in advance.
• Monitor daily staffing per PPD and census to minimize overtime.
• Report staffing challenges to the DON immediately.
• Maintain attendance records and discipline per attendance issues.
• Maintain open positions and applicant tracking logs.
• May perform initial interviews for nursing staff.
• Complete reference checks.
• May conduct orientation for nursing personnel including EMR training.
• Assist Nurse Manager as a Super User in EMR.
• May initiate Employee Health requirements (TB/HBV).
• Communicate effectively with staff.
• Report daily to DON/designee on staffing patterns/open positions.
• Maintain phone lists and distribute as needed.
• Respond to staffing calls to fill vacancies.
• May conduct staff education per education calendar.
• Support facility mission as a role model.
• Ensure patient/resident safety.
• Any other duties as assigned.
