Job summary

Cantex in Mesquite, TX is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to ensure appropriate staffing patterns aligned with the budgeted PPD. This role handles initial interviews, reference checks, and staff scheduling, plus in-services and clinical education for staff as part of a staff development focus.

Key duties include monthly and daily scheduling, maintaining logs, interviewing nursing personnel, and ensuring safe, efficient operations in collaboration with the DON and Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• Licensed LVN in applicable state.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience staffing in a 24-hour healthcare setting.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience interviewing and hiring nursing staff.
• Experience using EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly schedules for all nursing departments with 6-week/2-week cadence.
• Prepare daily sign-in sheets and monitor staffing per PPD.
• Identify and address staffing challenges; report to DON promptly.
• Maintain attendance records and logs for open positions.
• May conduct initial interviews and complete reference checks.
• Provide orientation for nursing staff and act as EMR Super User.
• Ensure patient/resident safety and effective communication with staff.
