Job summary

The UW–Madison School of Nursing is seeking a Clinical Education Support Technician to prepare and maintain the CTEN nursing skills and simulation labs, ensuring a safe, well-organized learning environment for students and faculty.

You will oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of mid-fidelity mannequins and simulator equipment, assist with training, and support a compassionate, collaborative team across shifts including occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a healthcare environment or equivalent professional setting.
  • Experience organizing supplies, managing inventory, or supporting daily operations in clinical, laboratory, or technical settings.
  • Ability to learn new computer technology.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds to chest height or higher.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, reaching and repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical and logistical consultation, training, and support for learning technology tools and platforms in nursing skills and simulation labs.
  • Analyzes, tests, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with learning technologies, supplies, and equipment.
  • Supports data collection, organization, interpretation, and dissemination to identify instructional needs.
  • Assists with researching, designing, and acquiring learning resources and processes to support learning.
  • Supports faculty development and engagement programs and activities.
  • Assists with designing engaging learning experiences that may be face-to-face, blended, or online.
  • Maintains, calibrates, and sets up skills lab and simulation equipment per policies.
  • Provides basic training and technical support to learners in classrooms, labs, clinics, and distance learning.
