Job summary

San Diego State University’s School of Nursing seeks an Instructional Support Technician to support the launch and ongoing operations of the new nursing program at the SDSU-Chula Vista satellite location. You will serve as a central resource for faculty, staff and students to support daily lab operations of the simulation lab and ensure a positive educational experience for nursing students.

This full-time role provides hands-on technical support, lab coordination, procurement, asset management

Qualifications

• Two years of instructional or healthcare support experience in an academic/healthcare setting.
• Experience ordering and managing medical supplies and equipment.
• Familiarity with standard healthcare supplies and equipment.
• Experience as a licensed medical assistant, CNA, LVN, or corpsman/clinician.

Responsibilities

• Technical Support: Maintain and troubleshoot simulation equipment and lab technologies while supporting effective, hands-on learning experiences.
• Lab & Program Operations: Coordinate, schedule, and oversee daily lab and simulation operations to ensure safe, secure, and efficient environments.
• Procurement & Vendor Management: Manage purchasing processes, vendor relationships, and equipment selection aligned with program needs and budget.
• Inventory & Asset Management: Oversee inventory systems, equipment tracking, and supply levels to ensure continuous lab readiness.
• Logistics Organization: Coordinate receiving, shipping, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance for lab operations.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative, reporting, and project support to sustain program operations and decision-making.
