Job summary

San Diego State University’s School of Nursing seeks an Instructional Support Technician to join our team and support the launch of the new nursing program at the SDSU-Chula Vista satellite.

You will serve as a central resource for faculty, staff and students to support the daily operations of the simulation lab and ensure a high‑quality educational experience for undergraduate and graduate nursing students.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience providing instructional or healthcare support services in an academic or healthcare environment.
• Proficiency using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience ordering, maintaining and/or managing medical and healthcare-related supplies and equipment.
• Familiarity with standard healthcare supplies and equipment.
• Experience as a licensed medical assistant, CNA, LVN, or corpsman/clinician.

Responsibilities

• Technical Support: Maintain and troubleshoot simulation equipment and lab technologies while supporting effective, hands-on learning experiences.
• Lab & Program Operations: Coordinate, schedule, and oversee daily lab and simulation operations to ensure safe, secure, and efficient environments.
• Procurement & Vendor Management: Manage purchasing processes, vendor relationships, and equipment selection aligned with program needs and budget.
• Inventory & Asset Management: Oversee inventory systems, equipment tracking, and supply levels to ensure continuous lab readiness.
• Logistics Organization: Coordinate receiving, shipping, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance for lab operations.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative, reporting, and project support to sustain program operations and decision-making.
