Job summary

PACS is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to supervise day-to-day nursing activities in our long-term care facility. The role emphasizes adherence to current federal, state, and local standards under the direction of the DON/ADON when applicable.

The RN will oversee nursing service operations, ensure policies are current, and support quality assurance initiatives while coordinating with other resident services to maintain high-quality resident care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures that govern the nursing service department.
• Ensure that Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects day-to-day nursing procedures.
• Ensure nursing staff comply with procedures and maintain required job descriptions.
• Prepare written and oral reports to the Director regarding the operation of the nursing service department.
• Participate in developing methods to coordinate nursing services with other resident services.
• Participate in facility surveys conducted by government agencies as requested.
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of discharge plans as necessary.
