Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day nursing activities to ensure quality care during tour of duty.
• Assist DON/ADON in directing nursing services in compliance with regulations.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the nursing service department.
• Ensure Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and staff follow it.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to the Director on nursing operations.
• Participate in QA, committee meetings, and discharge planning.
• Ensure sufficient staffing levels of RNs/LPNs and CNAs.
• Monitor medication administration and nursing protocol compliance.
