Job summary

North Pointe Care Center in San Diego seeks an experienced Nursing Services Supervisor to oversee day-to-day nursing activities during your shift, ensuring care meets federal, state, and local standards.

You will work with the DON/ADON, develop policies, participate in quality assurance, coordinate with other resident services, and supervise licensed staff to maintain a high standard of resident care.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities during the tour of duty to ensure high-quality care.
• Assist in directing nursing services in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines.
• Develop and maintain written policies and procedures for the nursing service department.
• Ensure Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and followed by staff.
• Report on operation of the nursing service department to the Director of Nursing.
• Contribute to the facility quality assurance program and participate in facility surveys.
• Ensure appropriate staffing of licensed practical and registered nurses, and nursing assistants.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services for continuity of care.
• Review and update discharge planning and nursing service plans as required.
• Attend committee meetings and provide reports and information for quality assessment and care planning.
• Inform and educate staff, residents and families as necessary and maintain proper documentation.
