Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Nursing Service Director to plan, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Services department in accordance with regulations and facility policies. The role requires coordination with the Administrator and Medical Director to provide high-quality resident care.

The position emphasizes policy interpretation, staff supervision, admissions participation, and ongoing quality improvement through QAPI and committees, with focus on staffing and infection control.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility.
• Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and long-term care regulations.
• CPR certification current.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs the Nursing Services department operations per state/federal laws and facility policies.
• Interprets and communicates policies to nursing staff; monitors practices.
• Participates in admissions decisions.
• Attends management meetings to discuss census and resident status.
• Evaluates staff performance and applies disciplinary actions as needed.
• Participates in QAPI or performance improvement activities.
• Oversees staffing, scheduling, and budget adherence for nursing units.
• Participates in recruitment, hiring and termination of nursing personnel.
• Promotes teamwork, effective communication, and infection control.
