Job summary

The Ventura County Community College District invites applications for an ongoing pool of part-time instructors for Oxnard, Moorpark, and Ventura Colleges. Applications will be kept on file for Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027 semesters and may be considered if a vacancy arises.

Under the general direction of a dean, instructors provide classroom instruction to diverse students and may teach in lecture, lab, or other modes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience OR associate degree and six years of professional experience OR the equivalent; OR possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
• Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment. The requirement is for the stated number of years of full-time experience or the equivalent in part-time experience.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds for the purpose of facilitating the attainment of their academic or vocational objectives.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services as appropriate.
• Observe and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations; provide timely feedback to student inquiries.
