Qualifications

• Master’s in engineering or equivalent combination as defined by the district.
• Bachelor’s in engineering with Master’s in math/physics/computer science/chemistry/geology or the equivalent.
• Or possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses and assess student learning outcomes.
• Advise and instruct students on programs of study and available support resources.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback in various settings.
• Plan and organize instruction aligned with approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes; submit data as required.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials and order resources according to procedures.
• Revise course content to reflect new theory and industry developments.
• Update syllabi and collaborate with faculty to assess measurable indicators.
• Participate in curriculum development and in department, division, and district activities.
• Attend meetings and contribute to articulation and matriculation activities as needed.
• May provide work direction to others and perform related duties as assigned.

Education

Master’s in engineering OR Bachelor’s in engineering + Master’s in math/physics/computer science/chemistry/geology OR the equivalent OR California CC Teaching Credential
