• Develops and maintains the nursing department schedule under the Director of Nursing.
• Generates, manages and updates schedule templates.
• Adjusts schedule templates according to census, PTO, and leaves to create the current schedule.
• Posts the current schedule for each scheduling period.
• Reviews staff schedule change requests and grants trades to avoid overtime.
• Updates schedule to reflect actual hours and unscheduled absences.
• Finds coverage for unscheduled absences and deficits.
• Reviews staff timecards and resolves discrepancies daily.
• Communicates with unit managers and the Director of Nursing regarding floor orientation scheduling for new hires.
