The SinclairNursing Program has proudly graduated over 6,600 studentssince its inception in 1969. Known for its high quality andexcellent reputation, the program has helped its graduates buildsuccessful nursing careers. Additionally, the program offersadvanced placement for Licensed Practical Nurses and individualswith specific military training.

Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty toteach face-to-face in the evenings at the Dayton campus. Thestarting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hour assignedto teach.

Principal Accountabilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment


• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning


• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies


• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate


• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs


• Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess


• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning


• Maintain accurate records of student progress


• Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines


• Maintain confidentiality of student information


• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

• Minimum of a master’s degree in nursing is required forteaching classroom instruction


• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing is required forteaching clinical instruction


• Must possess and maintain Ohio Registered Nurse Licensurerequired


• Current CPR certification and up to date immunization recordsrequired for clinical instruction


• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred


• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level


• Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity


• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
