Position Summary

The Sinclair Nurse Aide Training Program provides education toindividuals in the basic skills necessary to provide personal careservices and activities under the delegation and supervision of aregistered or licensed practical nurse to residents in a long-termcare facility. Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct)faculty for day, evening, and online courses at our downtown Daytoncampus, Courseview campus in Mason, OH and Centervillecampus.

The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hourassigned to teach.

Principal Accountabilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

• Minimum of an associate’s degree in health sciences or arelated field required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of three years of direct patient care work experiencewithin a long-term care facility required
• Current LPN or RN active status required
• Successful completion of the Ohio Department of Health NurseAide Train-the-Trainer required
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferredDemonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with theability to work successfully in a community collegeenvironment
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
