• Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work promptly to promote learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Not more than 12 credit hours taught per semester.

Position Summary

The Sinclair DentalHealth Sciences Department offers programs in DentalHygiene, Expanded Functions for Dental Auxiliaries and a DentalAssisting Program. Sinclair is currently seeking part-time(adjunct) faculty for face-to-face instruction at the Daytoncampus.

The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hourassigned to teach.

Principal Accountabilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment

• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs

• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

• Minimum of an associate’s degree required
• National Board Dental Hygiene Examination licensurerequired
• Work experience in the field or industry preferred
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with theability to work successfully in a community collegeenvironment
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
