Job summary

Sinclair College seeks part-time (adjunct) Religion faculty for day, evening, online and weekend courses across downtown Dayton, Courseview Mason, and Centerville campuses. The starting pay is $1,016 per credit hour assigned to teach, and applicants must reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky or be eligible to work there.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in religion or a master’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework in the content area is required.
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully in a community college environment.
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester

SinclairReligion Department offers a dynamic opportunity to engagestudents in one of the most thought-provoking and globally relevantacademic disciplines. The study of religion at Sinclair seeks tounderstand the world’s diverse religious traditions — both in theirhistorical development and in their ongoing influence incontemporary society. Inherently interdisciplinary, ReligiousStudies explores religion as a cultural, historical, philosophical,and psychological phenomenon, helping students appreciate its depthand complexity across human experience.

Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty for day,evening, online and weekend courses at our downtown Dayton campus,Courseview campus in Mason, OH and Centerville campus.

The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,016 per credit hourassigned to teach. For the full list of available courses to teach,please explore ourcoursecatalog.

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.
