Job summary

Sinclair Community College seeks part-time adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face Respiratory Care courses at downtown Dayton campus, Courseview in Mason, and Centerville campus. Day, evening, and weekend offerings are planned.

Starting pay is $1,016 per credit hour. Candidates need an associate degree in the field, Ohio license, and RRT credential, plus a commitment to student success and professional development. SCC supports tuition waiver and mentoring.

Qualifications

Minimum of an associate’s degree in the content area or related field required.
Must have an active Ohio license to practice Respiratory Care.
Must have an RRT credential.
Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department.
Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections per policies.
Employ teaching strategies and use instructional technology as appropriate.
Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success.
Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of student progress.
Submit final grade rosters by deadlines.
Maintain confidentiality of student information.
Cannot teach more than 12 credit hours per semester.

Position Summary

The SinclairRespiratory Care Department is currently seeking part-time(adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face for day, evening, andweekend courses at our downtown Dayton campus, Courseview campus inMason, Ohio and Centerville campus.

Starting Pay

The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,016 per credit hourassigned to teach.

Principal Accountabilities

Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment

Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

Minimum of an associate’s degree in the content area or relatedfield required
Minimum of two years of working experience in the field orindustry required
Must have an active license to practice Respiratory Care in theState of Ohio required
Must have the Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT )credential required
Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity
Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
