Job summary

Marshall Health is seeking a nursing supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing staff within the department. You will ensure regulatory compliance, participate in setting departmental goals, and maintain procedures manuals.

The role includes scheduling, training, performance evaluation, patientFlow coordination, and maintaining sterility and equipment readiness across sites. Strong leadership and adherence to CMS and DNV standards are essential.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises nursing personnel in accordance with department, governmental and other regulatory standards.
• Participates in development of departmental goals and objectives.
• Updates and maintains department’s nursing procedural manual.
• Assists in the selection, training/orientation, and performance evaluation of nursing personnel.
• Designs work schedules, hours and duty assignments.
• Ensures all areas and sites are following DNV and CMS standards.
• Greets patients and prepares them for physician’s examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance within the scope of the nursing standards.
• Maintains and assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
• Handles telephone inquiries from patients regarding test results, medications and treatment instructions as directed by the physician.
• Arranges for hospitalization, referrals, or performance of special procedures for patients.
• Maintains a clean, attractive work area and keeps clinical areas stocked with appropriate medical supplies.
• Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments, surgical trays, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
