Qualifications

• Nursing leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong knowledge of nursing standards and CMS/Joint Commission requirements.
• Experience in staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises nursing personnel in accordance with department, governmental and other regulatory standards.
• Participates in development of departmental goals and objectives.
• Maintains department’s nursing procedural manual.
• Assists in the selection, training/orientation, and performance evaluation of nursing personnel.
• Designs work schedules, hours and duty assignments.
• Ensures all areas and sites are following Joint Commission and CMS standards.
• Greets patients and prepares them for physician’s examination and tests.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments within nursing scope.
• Maintains equipment and aids physicians during treatment and testing.
• Handles telephone inquiries from patients regarding test results, medications and instructions.
• Arranges for hospitalization, referrals, or special procedures as needed.
• Maintains a clean, stocked work area and sterilizes instruments.
