Job summary

The Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to coordinate and supervise patient services, ensuring safe, efficient, and therapeutic care within hospital policies and national standards. The role requires collaboration with the manager, medical staff, and other departments to deliver high-quality care.

You will lead unit staff, participate in quality improvement, manage schedules and payroll input, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation.
• Common duties include maintaining education records and ensuring patient care quality.
• Exhibit leadership and positive customer service and co-worker relations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the manager/director on a daily basis with administration and enforcement of hospital policies affecting department personnel.
• Assume authority for decision making in the absence of the manager/director.
• Coordinate nursing care with professional nursing, medical staff and other hospital departments.
• Maintain communication with patients’ families and visitors to assure quality care and satisfaction.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
