Job summary

PACS is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to assist the Director of Nursing in directing licensed and non-licensed staff who provide health care and nursing services to residents on a 24/7 basis.

The ADON will plan, develop, and supervise nursing activities; participate in recruitment and training; conduct performance appraisals; act as back-up for the DON; oversee clinical operations; and ensure resident safety and rights.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain continuing education/licensing requirements.
• 3-5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, developing and supervising nursing staff activities.
• Assist in development and implementation of nursing services, policies, and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff; conduct employee appraisals and resolve disciplinary issues.
• Serve as back-up to DON, RN and LVN staff; oversee clinical operations and daily rounds.
• Ensure resident safety and uphold resident rights; liaise with residents, families, and physicians.
