Job summary

PACS seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to assist the Director of Nursing in directing activities of licensed and non-licensed personnel delivering health care and nursing services to residents 24/7. The ADON will help plan, develop and supervise nursing staff, implement nursing services, and promote resident rights with a focus on quality care.

Ideal candidates will have BSN, state nursing licensure, and 3–5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in long-term care.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with a BSN preferred.
  • Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain continuing education/licensing requirements.
  • 3–5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

  • Assist DON in planning, developing and supervising nursing staff activities.
  • Assist in development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Recruit, hire and train nursing staff; assist with employee appraisals and disciplinary actions.
  • Back-up for DON, RN and LVN staff; may provide direct resident care as needed.
  • Oversee clinical operations, daily rounds and monitor resident conditions.
  • Ensure resident safety and respect; liaise with residents, families, and physicians.
  • Attend staff meetings and provide reports to the DON.
  • Assist in designing and evaluating nursing systems to ensure consistent care delivery and uphold resident rights.
  • Support ongoing in-services for nursing staff.
