Job summary

PACS is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the Director of Nursing in directing licensed and non-licensed staff across a 24/7 operation in a long-term care setting in Milwaukee. The ADON will help plan and supervise nursing services, recruit and train staff, maintain regulatory compliance, and oversee daily rounds to ensure resident safety and quality care.

Strong leadership, BSN, active nursing license, and 3–5 years of management in LTC required; PCC and MS Office skills

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with BSN and in good standing.
• 3–5 years of nurse management experience in long-term care.
• Active state nursing license and continuing education compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret regulations and policies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist DON in planning and supervising nursing staff.
• Develop and implement nursing services policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff.
• Perform employee appraisals and address disciplinary actions.
• Act as back-up for DON, RN and LVN staff.
• Provide direct resident care as needed.
• Oversee clinical operations, daily rounds and resident monitoring.
• Ensure resident safety and rights are respected.
• Liaise with residents, families and physicians.
• Attend meetings or conduct meetings in DON's absence.
• Report to the DON and help design, evaluate nursing systems.
• Lead ongoing nursing staff in-services.
• Maintain confidentiality and stay abreast of regulatory changes.
• Supervise nursing staff as part of overall management.
